In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 index fell 0.72 percent to 8,665 points. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index declined 1.03 percent to 69,317.12 points, while India's Nifty 50 index dropped 0.60 percent to 22,467.90 points.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index decreased 0.69 percent to 23,963.31 points, while China's Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.27 percent to 3,831.844 points.
As a result, all major indices in the region recorded downward movements.
