Defense Minister Katz: We promised to protect northern residents
Jerusalem, March 22 (Hibya) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that, together with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, they ordered the destruction of all bridges over the Litani River to prevent Hezbollah crossings and accelerated the demolition of homes in border villages in Lebanon.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz made a statement regarding ongoing military operations in southern Lebanon and strategic objectives.
Sharing operational decisions, Katz said, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I ordered the immediate destruction of all bridges over the Litani River used for terrorist activities to prevent Hezbollah operatives and weapons from moving south."
Referring to actions in border settlements, Katz stated, "We also ordered the acceleration of demolitions of Lebanese homes in contact villages, in line with the Beit Hanun and Rafah models in Gaza, to prevent threats against Israeli settlements."
Emphasizing determination on military objectives, Katz added, "The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue their ground operations in Lebanon without pause to quickly reach anti-tank lines and control points, neutralize Hezbollah operatives, and protect communities. We are determined not to allow a return to the reality before October 7. We promised to protect northern residents, and that is exactly what we will do."
