Death toll from storms, floods and tornadoes in the U.S. rises to 12
New York, April 6 (Hibya) – According to U.S. media reports, the number of deaths caused by severe weather conditions in the United States has risen to 12.
ABC News reported that the number of people killed by storms, floods, and tornadoes in the U.S. has risen to 12 since Wednesday. CNN had previously reported seven deaths in the states of Tennessee, Missouri, and Indiana.
According to ABC, a 9-year-old child drowned in floodwaters in Kentucky, and a 5-year-old child died due to a storm in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Fatalities were also reported following a tornado in southwestern Tennessee.
Earlier, the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) reported that there was a threat of storms and tornadoes in nine states (Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana). In Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio, and Michigan — states in the storm’s path — there is a threat of strong winds and flooding.
