Dar: The principles of the UN Charter and Security Council resolutions must be implemented
Islamabad, July 10 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that UN Secretary-General candidate Macky Sall and former Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló met with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

According to the ministry, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to multilateralism and its support for the central role of the United Nations in the global system during the meeting.
Dar stated that ensuring global peace and security requires adherence to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, respect for international law and international agreements, and the full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, particularly those concerning Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir.
The ministry also stated that Dar expressed his expectation that, under the leadership of the next UN Secretary-General, the United Nations would continue to adapt to emerging global challenges and advance the global development agenda.
