Yesterday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto made a statement about the meeting between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Trump.

Crosetto said:

"If today in Washington there had been another Prime Minister (Letta, Draghi, Conte, Renzi, D'Alema) who had established dialogue with Trump and achieved such important results, I would have been proud as an Italian and as a citizen who believes in the values that the West has always represented. But today, because it is Giorgia Meloni who achieved this success, that is, my Prime Minister, the person I am honored to be part of the government with, I am even prouder. Yes, I am truly proud of how Giorgia Meloni represented Italy today and how she defended the role of Europe and the Western alliance. Thank you!"
