Costa: We are discussing the EU’s next long-term budget
Brussels, June 19 (Hibya) - President of the European Union (EU) Council Antonio Costa provided information on the discussions held on the second day of the EU Leaders’ Summit (EUCO).
President of the European Union (EU) Council Antonio Costa stated that discussions are being held today on the EU’s next long-term budget, the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
Emphasizing the need to establish a financial framework aligned with objectives and supported by adequate resources, Costa said: “We are discussing the EU’s next long-term budget. We need to make progress on a financial framework that matches our goals with the necessary resources.”
Costa noted that they aim to reach an agreement by the end of the year so that the new budget period can enter into force on January 1, 2028.
