Cooper: We have firepower in and around the Strait of Hormuz
Washington, May 4 (Hibya) - U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper stated under “Project Freedom” that U.S. forces are supporting the restoration of global trade flows.
CENTCOM Commander Cooper said that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is carrying out activities that threaten commercial maritime transportation.
In his statement, Cooper said: “From my perspective, the distinction is very clear. While U.S. forces are helping the international community restore global trade flows, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is doing everything it can to terrorize and threaten commercial maritime shipping. Our operational assessment is that the U.S. military has a clear superiority. We have significant capacity and firepower concentrated in and around the Strait of Hormuz.”
