Canadian Prime Minister Carney met with NATO Secretary General Rutte
Ottawa, June 6 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Carney and Rutte discussed the upcoming G7 and NATO summits, transatlantic security, and support for Ukraine and its right to self-defense.
Prime Minister Carney outlined the new government’s mandate to increase military spending and, in particular, to defend Canada’s sovereignty within the NATO alliance.
The Prime Minister and Secretary General will meet again at the next G7 Summit, which will take place in Kananaskis, Alberta.
