Budrys: The use of the death penalty is unacceptable under any circumstances
Vilnius, March 19 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys said he was deeply horrified by reports that a Swedish citizen had been executed in Iran.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated that he was deeply horrified by reports that a Swedish citizen had been executed in Iran.
Budrys noted that he extended his deepest condolences to Swedish Foreign Minister Maria M. Stenergard and said:
"The use of the death penalty is unacceptable under any circumstances. We call on Iran to fully respect fundamental rights, including the right to a fair trial."
