Budrys meets US officials in Washington
Washington, September 18 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys held meetings in Washington with representatives of the United States (US) National Security Council and US House of Representatives member Young Kim.
During his meeting with representatives of the US National Security Council in Washington, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys discussed Lithuania's upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union and its goals for strengthening transatlantic relations.
Budrys said the meeting addressed further deepening relations between the European Union and the US, joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, strengthening deterrence against Russia and addressing China's growing economic influence.
Budrys also met with US House of Representatives member Young Kim. The meeting covered developments in Europe and the Indo-Pacific, Lithuania's contribution to the security of its allies and opportunities to deepen cooperation among democratic partners.
Budrys expressed appreciation for the US Congress's continued support for the Baltic countries.
