British man arrested after knife attack on train in England
London, November 3 (Hibya) – A British man was arrested on Saturday evening following a mass stabbing attack on a train in England.
Although two suspects were detained within minutes of the first emergency call, the British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement on Sunday evening that only one person is currently being treated as a suspect.
Authorities stated that a 32-year-old British man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody, while a 35-year-old British citizen of Caribbean origin was released without further action.
The attack left nine people with life-threatening injuries. One of them was fighting for his life in hospital on Sunday evening after what BTP described as a “major incident.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the event “deeply concerning.”
