Dutch Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans shared his country’s determination and priorities in defence policy with the start of the new year.

Stressing that they remain focused on their goals despite global developments, Brekelmans said: “Full speed into the new year! Geopolitical fluctuations are high, but as the Ministry of Defence we will not stray from our course in 2026. We are expanding, strengthening and modernizing our armed forces. Together with our partners.”

Drawing attention to international solidarity, Minister Brekelmans concluded: “We continue our full support for Ukraine! We are proud of the work we have done, the results we have achieved and the friendship between us.”
