Bessent: U.S. trade deficit fell during the Trump era
Washington, Jan. 11 (Hibya) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that in October, during President Donald Trump’s term, the U.S. trade deficit dropped to its lowest level since 2009.
Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that President Trump’s economic policies are delivering results, saying: “Trump’s economic plan is working: our partners are removing tariffs, reducing non-tariff barriers, increasing exports, and delivering growth for the American people. Pessimistic scenarios are being repeatedly disproven.”
