Barrack: We congratulate Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi
Ankara, May 14 (Hibya) - U.S. Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack congratulated Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on taking office after receiving a vote of confidence, stating that the United States is ready to work in a mutually beneficial partnership to build a sovereign and prosperous Iraq.
U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack issued a congratulatory message following the approval of Iraq’s new government by the Council of Representatives.
Expressing support for the new government, Barrack said, "We congratulate Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on gaining the confidence of parliament and the approval of his government by the Council of Representatives."
Emphasizing cooperation, Barrack stated, "We are encouraged by your new leadership and look forward to cooperating on a bold and new agenda aligned with our shared interests."
Regarding the strategic vision of the United States, Barrack noted: "Our priority is to build a sovereign, prosperous, and stable Iraq that lives in peace with its neighbors and provides opportunity and growth for all its citizens, in a mutually beneficial partnership with the United States."
Highlighting counterterrorism and regional stability, Barrack concluded his statement as follows:
"President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and the United States are ready to work closely with you and your government to advance our shared goals, including the prosperity of the Iraqi people and the elimination of terrorism, which has always been an obstacle to the progress of the people."
