According to CCTV, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said in an interview with China Media Group (CMG), aired on Friday, that the Gaza Strip needs to be rebuilt rapidly.

Aboul-Gheit called for Israel’s full withdrawal from the region and for the establishment of a strong link between the West Bank and Gaza.

Expressing hope that reconstruction would continue in Gaza’s cities, which have been destroyed beyond recognition, Aboul-Gheit said: “I hope that the Palestinian Authority will be allowed to return to Gaza and that, ultimately, a Palestinian state governed by Palestinians themselves will be established.”
