Anand holds phone call with Pakistani counterpart Dar
Ottawa, April 27 (Hibya) - Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand held a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed the security situation in the Gulf region and efforts to find a diplomatic solution during the call.
Referring to Pakistan’s role in regional security, Minister Anand said: “I thanked him for Pakistan’s mediation efforts and emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.”
Stating that they also addressed positive developments on the ground, Anand said: “We also welcomed the extension of the ceasefire and agreed to remain in contact.”
