President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the 8th European Political Community (EPC) Summit held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, via video link.

Aliyev, who requested that one of the upcoming summits be held in Azerbaijan, said: “In order to maintain a balanced approach, I requested that one of the next summits be held in Azerbaijan. This proposal was accepted. Therefore, I invite EPC members to Azerbaijan in May 2028.”

Providing information about the current state of bilateral relations, Aliyev stated: “In the early 1990s, Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted all transit restrictions imposed on Armenia. To date, 28 thousand tons of cargo have been delivered to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.”

Expressing his thanks to the European Commission, Aliyev said: “I would like to thank the European Commission for its position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.”
