Al Muftah: Arbitrary detentions have become a structural feature of Israel’s genocide
Geneva, March 24 (Hibya) - Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Hend bint Abdalrahman Al Muftah, stated that Israel’s arbitrary arrests, torture, and ill-treatment of Palestinians have become a systematic feature of genocide, emphasizing that this constitutes a violation of international law.
Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Dr. Hend bint Abdalrahman Al Muftah, made a statement during the interactive dialogue held within the framework of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council regarding Israel’s activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Criticizing Israel’s detention centers, forced displacement, and mass killing strategies, Al Muftah said: “Arbitrary detentions, torture, and inhumane treatment against the Palestinian people have become a structural feature of the ongoing Israeli genocide and the broader settler-colonial apartheid regime.”
Describing these acts as war crimes and a stain on humanity, Al Muftah stressed that those responsible must be held accountable.
Al Muftah noted that violence against children, the elderly, and women, as well as deprivation of healthcare, cannot be ignored by the international community, adding: “The goals of the Israeli occupation to physically humiliate Palestinians and undermine their collective resistance have not succeeded and will not succeed.”
She added that Palestinians will continue their resistance until they achieve their right to establish a fully sovereign independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, and exercise their right to self-determination.
