77,000-euro support package for flood victims in Bulgaria
Sofia, July 23 (Hibya) – The Social Protection Fund under Bulgaria's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy announced that financial assistance will be provided to 71 people affected by the floods that occurred in May and June.
According to the ministry, a total of 77,000 euros in assistance has been approved for citizens whose homes were damaged by the floods. The support aims to provide furniture and necessary household electrical appliances for damaged homes in the municipalities of Gorna Oryahovitsa, Sevlievo, and Dalgopol.
The assistance will be paid upon submission of documents confirming expenditures for purchased goods and equipment. It was also stated that, upon request, payments may be transferred directly to the vendors from whom the products were purchased. The ministry added that all households affected by the floods had previously benefited from a one-time grant of up to 1,171.89 euros per household provided by the Bulgarian Social Assistance Agency.
