Belgian Foreign Minister Prevot shared the joint statement issued by 32 countries and the European Union's High Representative.

The statement condemned in the strongest terms Iran's execution of protesters and its use of the death penalty. It said there can be no justification for using capital punishment to silence dissent, intimidate communities or punish individuals for exercising their human rights.

The statement emphasized that the Iranian people should be able to exercise their rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear, and called on Iran to immediately end executions and release all those arbitrarily detained.

The statement also called on Iran to listen to its people's demands for change and take meaningful steps to ensure respect for human rights.

The joint statement was signed by Belgium, Albania, Austria, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well as the European Union's High Representative.
