Zelensky welcomes proposed changes to peace plan
Moscow, November 25 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the proposed changes to the controversial 28-point peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia.
It appears that Ukraine’s European allies have prepared a revised version of the plan after rejecting sections that supported Russia’s war objectives.
Zelensky said on Telegram: “The list of required steps to end the war may now become feasible. This framework includes many correct elements.”
U.S. and Ukrainian officials met in Geneva on Sunday to discuss the plan drafted in October by American and Russian officials, which had raised concerns in Kyiv and among European allies.
Russian representatives did not attend the meeting in Switzerland.
A Kremlin official on Monday rejected the changes, saying they were “not constructive at all.”
In another development, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that the Trump administration does not support Russia in its efforts to end the war.
She told reporters: “The idea that the United States engages both sides equally to end the war is completely inaccurate.”
Leavitt added that President Donald Trump is “hopeful and optimistic” that a plan to end the war could be developed.
After the Geneva talks concluded, Trump suggested on social media that “something good may happen,” but added: “Don’t believe it until you see it.”
During the Geneva meetings, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected claims that the 28-point plan supported by Trump was written by the Kremlin, saying some elements simply aligned with Moscow’s long-standing demands.
