Zelensky: We found mass graves of tortured adults and children in Bucha
Kyiv, October 22 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the mass graves discovered in Bucha, near Kyiv, following the withdrawal of Russian forces from the area. Zelensky said hundreds of people had died in Bucha and that bodies bearing signs of torture had been found, describing what happened as genocide.
Zelensky said they had discovered a mass grave containing approximately 500 people in Bucha. He stated: "When we liberated these towns near Kyiv, we found mass graves of adults and children who had been tortured. That was when it became clear what this war really was and what Putin had personally done."
Zelensky said he had requested that journalists be invited to the area after Bucha was liberated. He explained that he wanted nothing at the scene to be touched and wanted the world to see what had happened. Referring to allegations of civilians being killed and tortured, Zelensky said: "The whole world had to see this."
Zelensky also expressed his anger toward Russian President Vladimir Putin, questioning how Putin could be listened to and forgiven after what happened in Bucha.
