Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he held a meeting on the development of the country's ballistic capabilities and the implementation of the FREYJA Anti-Ballistic Missile Program.

Zelensky said the meeting reviewed the current status of the programs, existing needs, and the areas requiring acceleration. He noted that the National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Air Force Command, the Brave1 team, and technology teams from Ukraine's defense industry took part in the process.

Emphasizing that Ukraine is capable of developing its own ballistic capabilities, Zelensky said: “Developing our own ballistic capability and creating a new anti-ballistic missile system is a task that only a few countries in the world have accomplished. Ukraine has this capability.”

Zelensky added that the meeting also addressed access to critical components, expanding technological cooperation with partners, and localizing production. “FREYJA is making progress, and that is important. Europe needs a shared and truly large-scale capability for effective defense against ballistic threats,” he said.

Zelensky also noted that cooperation with partner countries regarding PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles was discussed, adding: “I expect results from the contacts that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense are conducting with previously identified partners.”
