Zelensky: Russia's ballistic missile attacks are causing electricity shortages in Ukraine
Kyiv, November 7 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia continues to launch ballistic missile attacks against his country, noting that shortages of Patriot air defense missiles have intensified the impact of these attacks. Zelensky announced that strikes on energy infrastructure have caused electricity shortages in many regions, particularly in the capital, Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia continues to launch ballistic missile attacks against his country.
Zelensky explained that Ukraine currently generates more electricity than it consumes, but Russia's targeting of substations and power grids has created an energy deficit. "We have suffered significant strikes due to the shortage of Patriot missiles," he said. Noting that Russian forces have targeted bridges over the Dnipro River from Kyiv to Zaporizhzhia, Zelensky reported that six ballistic missiles were launched at Kyiv's Northern Bridge overnight, four of which struck the bridge.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine would be represented at meetings of the G7, the Coalition of the Willing and the Ramstein format in November. "We are working to make each of these formats as effective as possible. The results achieved should focus primarily on air defense and energy," he said.
