Zelensky: Russians deployed 183 attack drones against our state
Kyiv, February 5 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky assessed the latest situation in the energy sector and defense strategies following Russia’s attacks carried out with 183 drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a daily coordination meeting regarding the situation in the energy sector and across the country.
Referring to Russia’s overnight attacks, Zelensky said: “Overnight, the Russians deployed 183 attack drones against our state; approximately 110 of them were ‘Shahed’ drones. A significant number were shot down. Our interceptor aircraft performed well. Missiles were also used, and this issue received great attention during the meeting.”
Emphasizing the need to take new steps in defense strategies, Zelensky stated: “First, additional reinforcement is needed in efforts against Russian reconnaissance drones. Second, we must continue to use all defense methods against multiple-launch rocket systems, including strikes on Russian positions. I expect results on this matter from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Command.”
Regarding the energy crisis and humanitarian situation, Zelensky said: “The Energy Minister is in Kharkiv today to maximize the pace of all ongoing work processes in the region. The situation in Kyiv also remains challenging; more than 1,100 buildings are without heating. It is vital that people receive all the assistance they need.”
