Zelensky: Russia has attacked Ukraine with nearly one thousand drones in one week
Kyiv, 16 November (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding the nationwide situation and the ongoing efforts following the recent intense attacks carried out by Russia.
Zelensky stated that search-and-rescue operations and damage assessments continue in Kharkiv and its surrounding areas, as well as in the Odesa and Dnipro regions. He added that teams are also working intensively in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
The President noted that more than 170 drones were launched at Ukraine just last night, at least half of which were of the “Shahed” type. Zelensky announced that over the past week, Russia has used nearly one thousand attack drones, 980 guided aerial bombs, and 36 missiles of various types.
Zelensky emphasized the need for a multi-component air defense system every night, saying: “Air defense systems, fighter jets, mobile fire groups and interceptor drones… We are working actively with our partners to strengthen each component.”
