Zelensky: Russia attacked 19 regions of Ukraine in two days
Kyiv, October 13 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 4 people were killed and 41 injured in Kharkiv in Russia's latest attacks, while civilian infrastructure in Kyiv was also targeted.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia has attacked Ukraine with more than 100 weapons since last night, including jet-powered drones, loitering munitions and ballistic missiles. Zelensky said a significant portion of the attack systems were shot down, but not all of them could be intercepted.
Zelensky said a residential building was destroyed in Kharkiv and that search and rescue operations continued throughout the night to reach people trapped under the rubble. He said 4 people were killed and 41 injured in the city in just one evening, and offered condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives.
Zelensky said 5 ballistic missile attacks targeting civilian infrastructure were also carried out in Kyiv. He said they had received no early warning information from their partners before the attack, stressing that intelligence sharing on Russian ballistic missile launches is critically important for saving lives.
Zelensky said Ukraine has not carried out attacks on Russian oil refineries or the energy sector in general for two days since the US President declared an energy ceasefire, while Russia, he said, has continued targeting Ukraine's energy facilities and critical infrastructure. Zelensky added that 19 regions of the country had come under attack during those two days.
Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to take reciprocal steps to reduce tensions, but effective pressure must be applied on Russia to make this possible. He said wars end when the aggressor realizes it cannot continue the war, adding that international pressure on Russia would help bring peace closer.
