Zelensky: Repair and defense efforts continue after Russia's overnight attacks
Kyiv, July 16 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that response operations are ongoing in many parts of the country following intense missile and drone attacks by Russia overnight.
Zelensky noted that the regions most affected include Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Odesa. He emphasized that energy infrastructure was particularly targeted. In the city of Kryvyi Rih, repair work on damaged systems is underway, with power supply expected to be restored during the day.
Fifteen people, including one child, were reported injured in the attacks, all of whom received the necessary medical treatment. The president thanked the rescue teams and energy workers for their swift response following the strikes.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Ukraine’s Air Force, ground and naval aviation, drone-operating units, air defense systems, and electronic warfare teams, stating that approximately 200 drones were shot down and over 140 failed to reach their targets.
