Zelensky: More than 200 drones were launched against us yesterday
Kyiv, Jan. 18 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine over the past week and called for urgent missile support for air defense systems.
President Zelensky provided an update on repair works carried out after attacks on the country’s energy system and on the latest situation along the front line.
Expressing gratitude to the teams mobilized to restore the energy infrastructure after the attacks, Zelensky said: “I thank all our people and repair crews who work day and night to bring the energy sector back online. In difficult weather conditions, you are restoring light, heat, and water. This effort strengthens our country’s internal resilience and supports our position in diplomacy.”
Sharing data on Russia’s strike capabilities, Zelensky noted that yesterday’s operations targeted the regions of Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa.
“Last night, more than 200 unmanned aerial vehicles were launched against us. Dozens of people, including a child, were injured, and two people were killed. Even this week alone, more than 1,300 attack drones, about 1,050 guided aerial bombs, and a total of 29 different types of missiles were recorded,” he said.
