Zelensky: Do not remain silent, do not be passive observers of history
Kyiv, 24 November (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged participants at the International Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit to continue applying pressure on Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed participants at the International Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit.
In his speech, Zelensky said: “Do not remain silent, do not be passive observers of history — be participants.”
Highlighting the importance of supporting Ukraine, he stated: “It is important to support Ukraine now, and I thank you for this support. Supporting the negotiation process is important, and I am grateful for every recommendation and every piece of information we receive from European leaders. Supporting the principles embraced by Europe is also vital.”
Recalling Europe’s principles, Zelensky said: “Borders cannot be changed by force; war criminals must not escape justice; the aggressor must fully pay for the war it has started. That is why decisions regarding Russian assets are of vital importance.”
Calling for support for these decisions, he added: “Above all, continue to put pressure on Russia. Russia is still killing people — every day.”
Addressing the situation of occupied territories, Zelensky said: “The occupied territories remain occupied. This means that Russia continues to act as a criminal state.”
Zelensky noted that nearly 70 parliamentary delegations were present at the summit, adding: “If the parliaments of Europe and the world do not turn a blind eye to this, no one will.”
