Ukrainian President Zelensky congratulated Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and the Liberal Democratic Party on their victory in the House of Representatives elections, stressing that the result is important in meeting the need for strong leadership.

“This victory demonstrates the necessity of strong leadership capable of bringing the world back to stability, predictability, and therefore peace,” Zelensky said. Expressing appreciation for Japan’s support for Ukraine’s security and independence, he noted that Japan’s assistance helped save thousands of lives during the war.

Zelensky also said he values Japan’s participation in the Coalition and its support for rebuilding Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, adding: “Together, we hope to achieve more results for the benefit of our peoples.”
