Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said in a commemorative message marking the 30th anniversary of the Hercules aircraft crash that the tragedy changed many lives forever.

Remembering those who lost their lives and everyone affected by the crash, Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said: "Thirty years ago, the Hercules disaster changed many lives forever. Today, we remember the 34 people who lost their lives, the survivors, and all their relatives, colleagues, and first responders."

Emphasizing social solidarity, Yeşilgöz-Zegerius concluded her statement by saying: "Their stories connect us and remind us of the value of caring for one another."
