Yeşilgöz-Zegerius: Our soldiers must be able to train as needed
Amsterdam, August 13 (Hibya) - Dutch Defence Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said that extensive regulations restricting the military's training and exercise activities need to be changed.
Dutch Defence Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said soldiers must be able to conduct exercises in the way they need to.
Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said excessive bureaucratic regulations hinder military training, pointing to practices such as not being allowed to dig trenches in their own training areas, restrictions on drone exercises and the inability to train with fast boats in the Wadden Sea.
Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said these practices are not functional and stressed that the existing regulations must be changed.
