US indices declined, Latin American stock markets rose
Istanbul, September 2 (Hibya) - In trading on September 1 in the American markets, US indices declined, while gains were recorded in some Latin American stock markets.
In the US markets, the Nasdaq 100 Index fell 1.29 percent to 29,077.22 points, while the S&P 500 Index ended the day down 0.71 percent at 7,631.47 points. The Dow Jones Index declined 0.79 percent to 52,766.88 points, while the Nasdaq Index fell 1.03 percent to 26,099.77 points.
Among other indices in the region, Brazil's Bovespa Index rose 1.30 percent to 179,722 points, while Canada's S&P/TSX Index fell 1.23 percent to 35,825.73 points. Mexico's S&P/BMV IPC Index also declined 1.40 percent to 64,514.25 points.
Colombia's COLCAP Index rose 1.86 percent to 2,470.26 points, while Peru's S&P Lima General Index gained 0.71 percent to 34,836.62 points. Ecuador's Guayaquil Select Index remained unchanged at 151.33 points.
The indices' intraday highs and lows were recorded, respectively, at 29,267.42 and 28,953.26 for the Nasdaq 100; 7,663.63 and 7,611.20 for the S&P 500; 53,176.60 and 52,691.31 for the Dow Jones; and 26,268.68 and 25,995.53 for the Nasdaq.
