U.S. Department of Defense to investigate "Signal Scandal"
Washington, April 4 (Hibya) – The U.S. Department of Defense announced it will investigate Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's use of the Signal messaging app to discuss airstrikes in Yemen in a group chat.
The investigation will determine whether the Defense Secretary and other department personnel followed the rules regarding the use of communication applications in this case.
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who accidentally added a journalist to the chat, said he takes full responsibility for the incident.
It was noted that U.S. government officials discussed topics such as attacks on foreign countries in such group chats. Participants included U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
