UN Refugee Chief Grandi pays a thank-you visit to Ireland
Geneva, July 16 (Hibya) – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi was received by Irish President Michael D. Higgins during his visit to Dublin.
Following the meeting, Grandi stated on social media that he was welcomed in an inspiring manner by President Higgins, as always.
He expressed his gratitude to Ireland for its outstanding support for refugees over the years, emphasizing that this support is of great importance both to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and to refugee rights more broadly.
