UAE Air Defense neutralizes 17 ballistic missiles
Abu Dhabi, April 8 (Hibya) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems successfully intercepted 17 ballistic missiles and 35 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on April 8, 2026.
The UAE Ministry of Defense provided information on the scale of the attacks and operational data of the defense systems.
The statement said: "The Ministry of Defense announced that UAE air defense systems engaged 17 ballistic missiles and 35 UAVs launched from Iran on April 8, 2026."
It was noted that since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defense systems have engaged a total of 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 UAVs.
As a result of the attacks, 3 people were injured, bringing the total number of injured to 224.
