Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that the European Union had decided to expand its sanctions against Russia. Tsahkna said the decision targeted approximately 1,600 individuals and entities, including those supporting Russia's military-industrial complex.
Noting that the sanctions directly target individuals and companies sustaining Russia's war efforts, Tsahkna said, "This directly targets the people and companies keeping Russia's war machine running."
Emphasizing that Europe would maintain its current policy, Tsahkna stated, "Europe is moving forward with determination. We will continue to increase sanctions pressure, deprive Russia of the means to wage its war of aggression, and ensure accountability for those who make the continuation of the war possible."
