Trump announces 25% tariff on cars and trucks from the EU
Washington, May 1 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced that tariffs on cars and trucks imported from the European Union will be increased to 25%. Companies producing in the U.S. will be exempt from the tariff.
Trump stated that a new step has been taken in trade policy regarding cars and trucks imported from the European Union. He said the tariff applied to these vehicles will be raised to 25%.
Trump said in his statement: “I will increase the tariffs on cars and trucks coming into the United States from the European Union. The tariff will be raised to 25%. It has been clearly understood and agreed that if they manufacture their cars and trucks in factories in the United States, no tariff will be applied.”
