Three people killed in shooting at an ice rink in the United States
Stockholm, 17 February (Hibya) – Authorities announced that three people were killed in a shooting at an ice rink in the United States.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. local time on Monday at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, near Providence, Rhode Island, where a youth ice hockey game had been scheduled.
The suspect was among the three people killed in what authorities believe was a “targeted” attack stemming from a domestic dispute.
The two victims who were shot and killed were reported to be adults. One died inside the arena, while the other passed away at the hospital.
Three other people were also injured by gunfire and are in critical condition in hospital.
Police cordoned off the ice rink, while tearful families and high school hockey players still in uniform were seen embracing outside the arena following the shooting.
