Rome, January 9 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani demanded the release of Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

Tajani stated that the repressive and illegitimate actions of the Maduro regime, which lost the elections, can no longer be tolerated, adding: "We stand with all Venezuelan citizens fighting for freedom and democracy."
