Sybiha: We call on all countries to join our historic accountability effort
Kyiv, April 10 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, assessing Portugal’s participation and the support of the international community in the process of establishing the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, called on other countries to join.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha shared the latest developments regarding the process of effectively launching the Special Tribunal.
Expressing gratitude for Portugal’s decision, Sybiha said, “We are grateful to Portugal for being ready to effectively launch the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine by joining the Enlarged Partial Agreement. This critical step demonstrates Portugal’s commitment to accountability and justice.”
Referring to the legal stage of the process, Sybiha said, “Only one more is needed to reach the legal minimum for a vote at the Committee of Ministers meeting in Chisinău in May.”
Thanking the supporting countries and making a global call, Sybiha said, “We thank Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Costa Rica for their support.”
Sybiha said, “We call on all countries in Europe and around the world to join our historic accountability effort to prosecute and punish the crime of aggression for the first time since the Nuremberg Tribunal.”
