Starmer: Reducing the cost of living is our government’s number one priority
London, February 20 (Hibya) - UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke about the steps taken by the government to tackle the cost of living crisis.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that the biggest problem facing the country’s economy is the cost of living and outlined the government’s measures in this area.
Speaking about the support packages that will come into effect in April and those already being implemented, Starmer said: “The National Minimum Wage and the State Pension Triple Lock have been increased as of April. Train fares have been frozen. Free school meals have been extended, fuel duty has been cut by 5 pence and bus fares have been capped at £3.”
In his remarks, Prime Minister Starmer reaffirmed the government’s determination, stating: “Reducing the cost of living is our government’s number one priority. Change does not happen overnight, but change is happening.”
