Shaheen: We appreciate Morocco’s supportive role for the Palestinian cause
Ramallah, January 26 (Hibya) – Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen met with Morocco’s Ambassador to Palestine Abdelrahim Meziane and praised Morocco’s humanitarian and development support, particularly for Jerusalem and Gaza.
According to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Minister Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen met with Morocco’s Ambassador to Palestine, Abdelrahim Meziane.
The statement said the minister praised Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee—especially the focus on Jerusalem, efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip during the war of genocide, contributions to development projects in the West Bank and Jerusalem, support for Jerusalemite students, and the rehabilitation of homes and hospitals in Jerusalem.
Emphasizing that easing Gaza’s suffering is the priority, Shaheen said: “At this stage, our priority is to alleviate the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip, provide shelter, and ensure the entry of humanitarian aid. The support of friendly countries is crucial to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.”
Ambassador Meziane reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering support, stating: “Our country will always support the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The city of Jerusalem will remain at the top of the priorities of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”
The meeting was attended by the minister’s senior adviser Hamdan Nazzal and the Director General of the Arab Affairs Department.
