Stating that we live in a multipolar world, Scholz emphasized the importance of global cooperation for sustainable solutions. "The North and the South must, and want to, work together to address the challenges of our time through sustainable solutions," he said.
Referring to the purpose of the commission established at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Scholz said: "This is precisely the purpose of the South-North Commission, which began its work today at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference. I look forward to the honor of co-chairing the commission together with Laura Chinchilla."
