Sanchez: Talking about gender-based violence means speaking with pain, sadness, and anger
Madrid, February 10 (Hibya) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez delivered a speech at the event marking the 20th anniversary of the Organic Law on Comprehensive Protection Measures Against Gender-Based Violence.
Prime Minister Sanchez emphasized that talking about gender-based violence means speaking with pain, sadness, and anger.
He expressed his gratitude to the Rodriguez Zapatero government for supporting the Gender-Based Violence Law, saying: "Thank you to everyone who made this possible."
Sanchez pointed out that Spain took a giant step twenty years ago to eliminate this structural violence but stressed that there is still much work to be done. "That is why we are already working on renewing the State Pact. In memory of those who are no longer with us. For those who have survived this crime and those who suffer from it today, let us fight for this cause until our last breath," he said.
