The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Sahin met with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi in Jeddah.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sahin drew attention to the seriousness of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and briefed Al Muraikhi on the continuing attacks, killings and starvation in Gaza, as well as the inadequacy of humanitarian aid and the failure to fully and sustainably open border crossings in a way that would allow essential supplies to be delivered.

Sahin also said that the dangerous escalation in settler violence in the West Bank poses a direct threat to the lives of the Palestinian people and their presence on their land, including in East Jerusalem.

Sahin also addressed the financial difficulties facing the Palestinian government, saying that Israel continues to withhold Palestinian tax revenues and stressing that the Islamic financial safety net should be activated to support the resilience of the Palestinian people and their institutions.

Sahin emphasized that the priority of the Palestinian Authority and government is to ensure that the Palestinian people remain on their land and in their homeland and to prevent plans for forced displacement. Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Al Muraikhi, meanwhile, said Qatar's ties with the Palestinian people are deep and stated that Qatar and its partners would continue their efforts to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza and move to the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan.
