Russell: We need urgent, unimpeded and safe aid access in the Darfur states
The Hague, August 3 (Hibya) – UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the conflicts in North Darfur continue to expose children to the risks of violence, disease, and hunger.
Russell noted that the fighting in North Darfur continues to endanger children through violence, illness, and hunger. She said, “UNICEF is responding.”
She added: “But to save and protect the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, we need urgent, unimpeded, and safe humanitarian access in the Darfur states.”
