Qatar participated in the Sudan Conference
Berlin, April 15 (Hibya) – Qatar participated in the Third International Conference on Sudan held in Berlin, the capital of Germany.
According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar was represented at the conference by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Khulaifi.
Al-Khulaifi thanked the German Foreign Minister, the host of the conference, and all partners involved in the organization, emphasizing that Qatar’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity remains unchanged.
He called on the international community to intensify efforts to reduce tensions in Sudan, meet urgent humanitarian needs, and protect civilians.
Al-Khulaifi stated that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan has reached a level rarely seen globally in recent years, with hundreds of thousands killed, millions displaced, and the country’s infrastructure severely damaged. He added that two-thirds of the country face the threat of famine.
He also recalled that Qatar has previously provided more than $75 million in aid to Sudan, stressing that alongside humanitarian assistance, a political process is necessary to achieve lasting peace and security, and reiterated Qatar’s call for increased international support for a political solution based on the will of the Sudanese parties.
