According to the report, during a meeting at the Kremlin, Putin listened to the report by Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov on the situation along the combat line and announced that the Russian side would halt all military actions from April 19 at 18:00 until April 21 at 00:00.

Putin stated: “Driven by humanitarian concerns, the Russian side declares an Easter ceasefire from this Sunday until midnight on Monday, from 18:00 to 00:00. I order the suspension of all military actions during this period.”

Putin added: “We assume that the Ukrainian side will follow our example. At the same time, our forces must be ready to repel any possible violations of the ceasefire and any aggressive actions by the enemy.”
